Tasha Ghouri has been hailed as the ‘real winner’ of Strictly Come Dancing 2024, despite Chris McCausland taking home the Glitterball Trophy

Tasha Ghouri, 26, has been dubbed the ‘real winner’ of Strictly Come Dancing 2024, despite Chris McCausland claiming the Glitterball Trophy in a thrilling finale on Saturday.

PR expert Kayley Cornelius predicts that Tasha will soon be flooded with media offers. Kayley told The Daily Star : “Tasha might just be the real winner of Strictly, thanks to her incredible marketability and ability to connect with a wide range of audiences. Her content, which centres on lifestyle, beauty, and fashion, makes her especially appealing to brands in those sectors – some of the biggest spenders in online advertising.

She continued: “Appearing on Strictly Come Dancing is always a major PR move for any celebrity, but Tasha Ghouri seems poised to benefit more than most. Since announcing her participation, her Instagram engagement has soared, nearly doubling her average interactions compared to before.

“With her large following and high engagement rate, brands are likely to pay top rates to work with her. Tasha could easily command a five-figure sum per sponsored post, and long-term collaborations could push her earnings into six figures—or even higher if she becomes the face of a brand.”

Kayley also speculated that Tasha will host a dating show featuring individuals who use sign language and is expected to make an appearance on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, according to the publication.

Tasha first shared her “superpower” hearing loss while in the Love Island villa in 2022 and later co-authored the book Hits Different. The novel tells the story of a girl with a cochlear implant, similar to Tasha’s, who finds love during the summer, drawing from her own experiences.

Kayley’s prediction of Tasha making big money comes after Saturday night’s final, where comedian Chris, 47, and his dance partner Dianne Buswell, 35, claimed the Glitterball Trophy to win the 2024 season. Before the winners were announced, the final four couples had to perform three dances each, hoping to win over viewers’ votes.

The Love Island star and her dance partner, Aljaž Škorjanec, again secured 39 points from the judges for the performance which the pair danced to the sound of the P!nk song What About Us. Their Showdance, which they performed to the sound of the Benny Goodman song Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing), and their American Smooth both secured full 40 points from the judges.

But it was not enough for them to beat winners Chris and Dianne – who scooped the crown after performing a Couple’s Choice of their own. Throughout the contest, Dianne has been lavished with praise for creating dazzling routines for her and Chris to perform while taking into account the fact that he is blind and working to ensure every step he takes is safe.

Despite the celebratory group hugs and heartfelt speeches that touched many viewers, there was a sense among some that Tasha and Aljaž might have been more deserving of the glitterball trophy this year. While Chris’s performance brought judge Shirley to tears, others argued that Tasha was technically superior on the dance floor. One user wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Chris is the weakest of the 4 finalists. But he is the most deserving winner.” Whilst another added: “Tasha and Sarah should have won, they were much more sleek on the dance floor. But Chris is still a worthy winner.”
