Trevor Lawrence’s wife, Marissa, had a heartwarming reaction following the news of his lucrative contract extension.
On Thursday evening, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence agreed to a massive five-year contract extension worth $275 million, with $200 million of coming in guaranteed money.
Following the news, Marissa Lawrence shared a reel of Trevor on her Instagram story with a caption that read, “So proud of you. Always!! Excited and grateful (with two heart emojis) Go Jags!”
Marissa and Trevor Lawrence got married in April 2021, five months before he began his professional career. The two had been a couple since high school, having attended Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia.

The Jaguars drafted Lawrence with the first overall pick in 2021 following a historic career for the Clemson Tigers. After a rough rookie year (due largely to the incompetence of then-head coach Urban Meyer), Lawrence broke out in 2022 with a 66.3 completion percentage for 4,113 yards, 25 touchdowns and only eight interceptions.
Lawrence led Jacksonville to a surprise AFC South division crown. They stunned the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round, having erased a 27-0 deficit for the largest comeback in franchise history.
Lawrence had an inconsistent third year, however, as the Jaguars collapsed late in the year and missed out on the postseason. T-Law had 21 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, nearly doubling his 2022 total despite 20 fewer pass attempts.
Trevor Lawrence & Jaguars Look To Bounce Back In 2024
GM Trent Baalke wasted little time improving a roster that underachieved considerably a year ago, bringing in veterans Arik Armstead, Mitch Morse, Gabe Davis, Ronald Darby and Darnell Savage.
Those veterans join a deep core led by Lawrence, Travis Etienne Jr., Evan Engram, Christian Kirk, Travon Walker and Josh Allen. With all those roster reinforcements, there are no excuses for the Jaguars to miss out on the playoffs again in 2024.
Jacksonville will kick off their 2024 season with a road tilt against the Florida state rival Miami Dolphins on Sept. 8.
