STRICTLY Come Dancing has been plunged into a new crisis as further complains are now being investigated.

Professional dancer Giovanni Pernice left the show earlier this year after he was questioned over his “brutal, taskmaster training methods”.

Three of Giovanni’s former partners — said to be Amanda Abbington, Laura Whitmore and Michelle Visage — all contacted a legal firm with their complaints.

But now, more complaints surrounding the BBC dance show are reportedly being looked in to, which could spell serious trouble for the programme.

A source told the Mail: “This investigation is no longer just solely about Giovanni but other, more wider issues. The show has been going for 20 years and the whole veneer of Strictly is so sparkly and lovely, of course there will always be people who feel hard done by.

“Amanda’s complaints have started something massive, it has opened the door for others to come forward about things they haven’t been happy with.

“It is all a big headache for the BBC, it is about to celebrate a massive milestone with its 20th anniversary.”

Sherlock actress Amanda, who quit last year’s series early, said she had mild PTSD from working with Gio.

He has denied any wrongdoing and instructed top legal firm Schillings to fight his corner and clear his name, which he believes will happen.

The BBC have been contacted for comment.

Earlier this month, they said: “If a complaint is made to the BBC, we assess and take any necessary steps to establish the facts, whether there is a case to answer, and, if appropriate, what action should be taken.

“This is all within the context of the BBC having duties of care to everyone linked to a complaint.

“Whilst we know our shows have been positive experiences for many who have taken part, we will always look at any issues with care, fairness and sensitivity to everyone concerned.”
