Kadarius Toney did not appreciate taking a huge hit in training camp.

After catching a pass from Patrick Mahomes, Toney made a couple of juke moves against the defense.

Just as the whistle was blown to stop the play, he received a huge hit from defensive end George Karlaftis.

Kadarius Toney hated everything about that huge hit as he got up and tossed the football at George Karlaftis.

That moment nearly led to a massive brawl, as the offense and defense came together to talk some trash but ultimately separated and continued practice. Even Travis Kelce got involved, getting in the face of George Karlaftis before shoving the Chiefs’ 2022 first-round pick.

After playing a pivotal role in winning the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles in February 2023, Toney had a disappointing 2024 season.

The talented but often-injured wideout had a serious fumble problem last year, which decreased his role in the offense.

Kadarious Toney had just 27 catches and 169 yards last year, per ESPN.

He was kept off the field for the entire Chiefs’ postseason run and was named a healthy scratch for the team’s Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers in February.

The Chiefs reportedly declined the fifth-year option on Toney’s rookie contract, meaning he will become a free agent following the 2024 season.

Toney was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in the middle of the 2022 season from the New York Giants in exchange for a 3rd and 6th Round pick.

Kansas City Chiefs Reveal Potential New Role for Kadarius Toney

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid revealed this week that Kadarius Toney has been receiving running back snaps at the start of training camp this offseason.

He further noted that Toney had “some pretty good snaps” at the position last year and “enjoys” playing that role.

“I think that one of his strengths is to be able to move him around,” Reid said. “He had some positive snaps for us at running back last year and so I think he enjoys doing that. He’s pretty multi-faceted there with what he can do, and we’re going to try and utilize it to the best of his ability.”
