A father was pissed after spending $2,500 on courtside seats and seeing Stephen Curry ignore his child.
Stephen Curry has been attacked by the father of an NBA fan who spent $2,500 to get his son courtside tickets and then saw Curry ignore them after the game as they waited to talk to him before he left for the tunnel.
The comment about Luka Doncic was completely unnecessary in the OP, but what Curry did has brought up a conversation. People pay a lot of money to watch NBA games, but unfortunately, the experience is about the game. Those seats don’t guarantee that athletes will come and interact with everybody that is courtside.
Making an exception for a child usually is the case, but Curry goes over to a bunch of children to give his shoes away. He almost ran into the kid waiting, so he could have waited a moment longer. But again, after a game, not all players want to greet every child that comes up…
Unfortunately, the child didn’t get to have that experience, but it’s also unfair to always expect athletes to greet every single person around them. Some are glad to, some do it often, and some don’t. It’s their prerogative. Hopefully, the money spent on the tickets led to a unique experience of watching a live game, as that’s what they usually lead to.
Stephen Curry Has Had A Hot Start To The Season
The family presumably had courtside tickets to the Warriors game against the Rockets from last week, where Curry put on a show in the fourth quarter. He scored 14 points in the fourth to help the Warriors complete a comeback win over the Rockets, including some very contentious moments with Dillon Brooks.
One of Curry’s game-sealing shots came with a ridiculous crossover on Brooks that led to the Rockets’ swingman jumping in the air hopelessly to try and break Curry’s rhythm. It didn’t work and the 2022 Finals MVP drained a three-pointer in his face. Curry was allegedly even trash-talking Brooks, as indicated in a leaked video. He took shots at Brooks’ style of play after the game.
“We know what he’s about and his reputation, I don’t get caught up in that. I just play basketball. So, you let the game do the talking. … There’s a lot of history with him particularly. At the end of the day, you just hoop.”
Outside of that performance, Curry has had some solid games to start the season. He is averaging 31.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists and has led the Warriors to a 4-1 start. He’s had two 40-point games already and is currently shooting 45.9% from three with 12.2 attempts per game. His numbers are on pace to be better than his 2016 MVP year, which is an incredibly scary thought,
We saw Curry’s numbers jump like this in the 2020-21 season when the Warriors weren’t very competitive and failed to make the playoffs. He wasn’t in MVP conversations that year due to the Warriors having a bad record, but he averaged 32.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in one of the best individual years of his career.
He’s on pace to replicate that this year, but with the Warriors also being good. Chris Paul has fit perfectly, Klay Thompson is hitting game-winner again, and Draymond Green is healthy. There are no bad vibes in the locker room, as the Warriors lock into winning a title.
