Lauren Oakley broke down in tears when her Strictly Come Dancing partner JB Gill captured an emotional moment during their rehearsals.

The dancer, 33, and the JLS singer, 37, are heading into the quarter finals after impressing the judges on last week’s show with a score of 39 out of 40 with their Charleston.

Ahead of their next performance, the pair appeared on Tuesday’s episode of Strictly: It Takes Two to chat to host Fleur East.

This weekend, they will perform a Viennese Waltz to Let’s Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins.

It seems the dance has had an effect on Lauren as viewers were shown an Instagram clip JB recorded of their rehearsals.

In the clip, JB was heard asking Lauren: What are you doing?’ With tears falling down her face, she replied: ‘I’m emotional.’

JB asked: ‘Why are you so emotional?’ to which Lauren said: ‘Because you did really good.’

Turning to the camera, JB laughed and said: ‘“I did good guys – I did good,’ and Lauren added: ‘You did so good. You looked proper.’

Rewatching the clip, Lauren told Fleur: ‘That come after we watched… We filmed the run through then we watched back and it just made me emotional because he looked proper.’

Holding back tears, she added: ‘What is really nice is that you know that your partner is doing the right things when you can do the right things as well. I was getting my shape because he gave me the frame and it was just a beautiful moment and it made me cry.’

JB later added: ‘It’s not to say that I was expecting a 40 but for me I think – Craig had high standards and we know that already.

‘He had said not in response to me but he said that he is going to give a 10 to what he feels draws him in and allows him to engage and watch.’

It comes after JB revealed his wife Chloe Tangney has been left ‘so jealous’ by his stint on the BBC show.

The singer was paired with Amy Dowden and later Lauren, admitted that she’s not fearful of the series’ infamous curse, but envious of his weight loss.

JB, who shares son Ace,10, and six-year-old daughter Chiara with his wife of ten-years, told The Sun: ‘I’m already getting it in the neck from Chloe, she’s just so jealous’.

‘All my trousers are too big. Honestly, it’s actually a joke. I went on It Takes Two this week and my trousers, they’re a 34 [inches], which is my normal size I could get a fist in between my hip and the trousers. It’s ridiculous!’.

Before adding: ‘I’m probably a 32  [inches] or less now, I haven’t been a 32 since I was at school. That’s how bad it is’.

JB lost his professional partner, Amy, after she collapsed backstage following the Halloween show and was later forced to quit due to a foot injury and was replaced by Lauren.

Following her exit JB praised Amy for all the work she put in with him during their rehearsals and told The Mirror:  ‘She definitely hasn’t let anybody down. Amy has been an incredible teacher. She has worked so hard for me and obviously it was great that we were able to establish that bond and that connection.

‘From day one, we worked on our partnership and worked on the things that we were passionate about.

‘It’s gutting, like Amy says, that it’s ended in this way but there’s nothing we can do about that now. We continue to look forward. It’s great to have her in my corner still.’
