Helping hand for Paul

Logan Paul had a little help from streamer IShowSpeed as he retained his belt at WrestleMania 40.

The YouTuber-turned-wrestler faced Randy Orton and Kevin Owens and successfully defended his United States Championship.

But he had IShowSpeed to thank as it was the 19-year-old’s intervention which saved the day.

With Paul flattened and Orton moving in for the kill, Paul was dragged from the ring by a Prime bottle mascot.

Orton then left the ring to square up to the Prime bottle, who was revealed to be IShowSpeed.

The influencer grimaced at the WWE icon and then began barking like a dog in his direction.

Orton, 44, responded by launching an attack on Speed, kicking him to the ground before performing an RKO on the commentary table.

But the intervention played a crucial role as Paul was given time to recover before throwing Orton out of the ring.

The 29-year-old ended the contest with a frogsplash on Owens, who had initially teamed up with Orton before a betrayal saw a triple threat play out.

Inside Prime’s WWE sponsorship

Prime’s specific terms with WWE have not been disclosed, however it is reportedly for an “eight-figure sum”.

Wall Street Journal reported the deal was an eight-figure sum with WWE announcing a “record-setting global partnership” with the drink brand.

Under the TKO umbrella, WWE are catching up with UFC on the sponsorship front – with UFC bringing in close to $50 million in sponsorship revenue during the last three months of 2023 compared to WWE’s $15 million.

WWE COO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque said in a release: “What Logan and his team have built in a short time is phenomenal and we’re excited to help showcase Prime Hydration across our biggest events.”

Prime co-founder and WWE Superstar Logan Paul added: “Combining two of my greatest achievements into one knockout partnership is a dream come true.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard at Prime to build a brand that disrupts the beverage industry and it’s time to join forces with the global leader in sports entertainment.”
