Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the NTAs, Craig said: “I don’t know what your family is like, but we all families have stuff that happens and you all stay together through it because that’s what a family is all about.

“And actually that stuff makes you a bit tighter and appreciate each other, it’s grand.”

Josie added: “We absolutely adore Holly and she’s one of the greats, she’s one of the greatest broadcasters of all time.

“She makes it look so seamless and she’s a gorgeous person and she’s amazing, we miss her terribly.”

As Craig chimed in with: “It’s the easiest day in the studio when you’re sitting beside Holly isn’t it? She’s grown up and we’re not.”

In October 2023, Holly shared an emotional statement revealing she had sensationally quit her This Morning role.

Posting on her Instagram story, the star wrote: “I have let ITV know that today, after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.

“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.

“This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.

“Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.

“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal so supportive and the very best company every day.

“Richard and Judy said ‘we only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers’.

“It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go.

“Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much. Holly.”

Following her exit, Craig wrote at the time: “We are so supportive of you and we love you to bits, we just wish it didn’t end this way. Its a sad day for everyone.”

While Kevin Lygo, Managing Director, Media and Entertainment, ITV said: “Holly has brought her unique brand of warmth, energy, humour and fun to one of the country’s most popular daytime shows, and everyone on the programme will miss her enormously.

“She remains a much loved member of the ITV family and we look forward to continuing to work with her in the future.”
