Catherine has officially confirmed that she and her three children will be returning to Trooping the Colour amidst her battle with cancer. This year’s Trooping the Colour event will mark the Princess of Wales’ first public appearance.

All three of Catherine’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will travel in a carriage with her as she continues her treatment for an unidentified type of cancer since late February. Afterward, she is expected to join the King, her husband, the Prince of Wales, and other members of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the airshow.

The 42-year-old princess expressed her excitement for witnessing the King’s Birthday Parade this coming Saturday with her family. She also mentioned her desire to participate in certain public events throughout the summer, though she acknowledged that challenges remain.

“I am learning the art of cultivating patience, especially in the face of uncertainty,” she said.

“I am approaching each day mindfully, listening to my body’s signals, and giving myself the necessary time to recover.”

A spokeswoman from Buckingham Palace confirmed that His Majesty is pleased that the princess will be present at the upcoming ceremonies and eagerly anticipates all aspects of the day.

Catherine’s initial public appearance in 2024 will come after her absence from scheduled events earlier in the year due to her hospitalization for stomach surgery on January 16th.

The Trooping the Colour ceremony will hold special significance for the princess as Number 9 Company, Irish Guards, the regiment she serves as Colonel, will be parading their King’s Colour. However, during the event, Lieutenant General Sir Jim Bucknall will represent her and take the salute.

Due to his ongoing cancer treatment, the King will not participate in the ceremony by riding; instead, he will observe the soldiers at Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall from a vehicle.

Additionally, three military horses that ran uncontrollably around London earlier this year are expected to be part of the event.

On April 24, during a training session in Belgravia, five horses from the Household Cavalry Mounted Unit were injured when they were frightened by debris that had fallen through an inflatable tunnel and ran through the city.

After receiving specialized treatment, three horses—Tennyson, Trojan, and Vanquish—were officially assigned responsibilities. They demonstrated both skill and enthusiasm.

Tennyson will participate in the esteemed Sovereign’s Escort, while Trojan and Vanquish will serve as part of the King’s Life Bodyguard at Horse Guards, serving as the formal guard for the ceremonial entry to the royal palaces.

The Trooping the Colour ceremony will commence at precisely 10:30 a.m., marked by the departure of the Royal Family from Buckingham Palace as they head to Horse Guards Parade.

William will ride a horse, and Catherine will ride in an official carriage with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
