Azeez Al-Shaair will have plenty of time to think about what he did to Trevor Lawrence.

On Tuesday, the NFL suspended the Houston Texans linebacker for three games after his dirty hit to the Jaguars quarterback rendered him unconscious and led to a brawl.

NFL VP of Football Operations Jon Runyan sent a scathing letter to Azeez Al-Shaair that read in part: “Your lack of sportsmanship and respect for the game of football and all those who play, coach, and enjoy watching it is troubling and does not reflect the core values of the NFL.”

Lawrence was finally back in the starting lineup after missing two games with a sprained left shoulder when he scrambled left on a second-and-7 play in the second quarter of Houston’s 23-20 victory Sunday.

He initiated a slide before Al-Shaair raised his forearm and hit him hard enough to cause his head to bounce off the ground.

The league has suspended players for repeated violations of their health and safety protocols on the field, like illegal hits.

Al-Shaair was also fined $11,817 earlier this year after he punched Bears running back Roschon Johnson on the sideline in Week 2.

The 27-year-old has amassed 68 tackles this season, which ranks second on the team.

Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair took to social media Monday to issue an apology to Trevor Lawrence after his dangerous and illegal blow to the quarterback’s face mask caused the quarterback to sustain a concussion.

In the post, Al-Shaair, who was ejected for the hit along with a Jags player, said that he didn’t see Lawrence sliding until “it was too late” and that it happened “in the blink of an eye” before saying he was sorry for the hit.
