Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Williams took a savage shot at his former New York Jets teammate and quarterback after leading his new team to a victory on Sunday.
After a disappointing short-lived stint with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets, Mike Williams was sent to the Steelers ahead of last Tuesday’s trade deadline in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round draft choice.
Williams wasted no time making an impact with his new team, catching the game-winning 32-yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson in a 28-27 victory. While Williams’ Steelers improved to 7-2, Rodgers’ Jets were crushed 31-6 by the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
On Monday, Mike Williams poked fun at Rodgers by using the hashtag #RedLine in an Instagram post to celebrate the Steelers’ win in Washington:
For those unfamiliar, the “red line” is a reference to a comment Rodgers had about Williams following the team’s Week 6 home loss to the Buffalo Bills. Here’s what Rodgers said at the time, per Christian Arnold of the New York Post:
“There’s two verticals, Allen [Lazard]’s down the seam, and Mike’s down the red line. So, I’m throwing a no look to the red line. When I peak my eyes back there Mike’s running an ‘in-breaker’…it’s gotta be down the red line.”

Mike Williams signed with the Jets in free agency following his release from the Los Angeles Chargers. In nine games with the Jets, Williams had just 12 receptions for 166 yards and no touchdowns.
And yet, it took just one game for Williams to record his first touchdown with the Steelers. Indeed, things are going well for the former Chargers star.
Steelers Are The Ideal Place For Mike Williams
Pittsburgh needed a No. 2 wideout to complement George Pickens after trading Diontae Johnson to Carolina in the offseason. They just might have their guy in Williams, a two-time 1,000-yard receiver and matchup nightmare in the red zone.
The Steelers have a top-five defense, a dynamic rushing game and a competent starting quarterback in Russell Wilson. If Williams can regain that star-like form we saw with the Bolts, the Steelers could emerge as a legitimate threat to win the AFC over the Kansas City Chiefs.
