Pete’s highest score of the series so far was 36 during week 8, but he remains the show’s lowest-scoring contestant having been awarded just 22 points on two occasions.
And fans have questioned why Pete and Jowita haven’t yet found themselves in the bottom two.
Having been consistently saved from the dance off by the public vote, it has now been revealed that his clever marketing campaign could be the reason.
Pete’s celebrity pals have rallied around him, with the likes of Sam Thompson, Zara McDermott and Vicky Pattison urging their followers to vote for him.
A source told The Sun: ‘Beyond soap stars, Strictly has never seen such an effective campaign as Pete’s.
‘His celebrity pals span reality TV, music, social media stars and beyond and all of them love him.
‘Every Sunday night that reality telly army is canvassing for votes for Pete and urging their own passionate fan bases to back their mate.’
Strictly fans were shocked by Sunday’s dance off this week, as they questioned why Pete and Jowita weren’t in the bottom two.
The TOWIE star and his partner finished bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night, but made it through on the public vote.

Fans were left furious after Jamie and his partner Michelle became the ninth couple to leave the competition during Sunday night’s results show and took to social media to share their frustration
Instead Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas and Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe faced off in the dance off, with Jamie ultimately being sent home by the judges.
The results of Sunday’s show saw fans criticise the judges’ decisions to ‘constantly down-mark’ the actor.
On Saturday, the soap star sent fans into overdrive after performing a Foxtrot with pro partner Michelle Tsiakkas to Ben E King’s classic Stand By Me.
Despite many viewers raving over the soap star’s dance, Jamie was once again harshly critiqued by the judges – prompting some to accuse the panel of ‘favouritism‘.
Viewers took to X to vent their irritation with many calling for Pete Wicks to have been eliminated instead.
They wrote: ‘How, HOW the actual heck did Pete escape the dance off??!?!? Montelle and Jamie did not deserve to be there, this isn’t fair
While another said: ‘Absolutley gutted Jamie went home. Shouldn’t have been in the bottom 2, let alone go!! He had my vote every week. I loved his dancing and his partnership with Michelle. I wanted him in the final Bloody joke #strictly’
And a third complained: ‘Well that’s strictly over for me this year poor Jamie’
