Does the NFL have its next Travis Kelce? According to retired quarterback Robert Griffin III, the answer is yes in San Francisco 49ers first-round draft choice Ricky Pearsall.

Pearsall was selected No 31 overall by the 49ers in a shocking move, as San Francisco already has a loaded wide-receiving corps with Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.

Yet, taking the risk on the former Florida wide receiver, who was not as highly rated on most experts draft lists, was not a leap at all per Griffin.

Kelce is four inches taller and 40 pounds heavier than Pearsall, and they play different positions.

How the use their talents is the similarity Griffin has keyed in on.

‘Ricky Pearsall doesn’t just look like Travis Kelce, his game has the same flavor to it,’ Griffin said on X.

‘He knows how to use leverage to get open, knows when he is open and catches everything. Pearsall adds more playmaking versatility to the most offensively versatile team in the NFL,’ Griffin added.

Kelce is regarded as one of the best tight ends in NFL history, with three Super Bowls and nine Pro Bowl selections.

Bringing up Kelce’s name is sure to stand out for any comparison and he’s one of the league’s most recognizable players due to his relationship with Taylor Swift.

On top of that, he is a first-ballot Hall of Famer for whenever he retires.

Pearsall has lofty expectations to meet if he wants his career to be as successful as Kelce’s.
