Tom Holland, widely recognized for his portrayal of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had endeared himself to fans and audiences worldwide with his charismatic and youthful take on the iconic character. One memorable moment where Tom Holland shared his thoughts on his experience working with the legendary Michael Keaton as Vulture occurred during a panel at ACE Comic Con in Seattle in 2018. Holland’s comments added to the excitement surrounding the film. Holland told at the ACE Comic Con panel discussion (via Comicbook),

“I will never forget that. He was a pleasure to work with. Terrifying. We shot that scene in the car for an entire day, and as soon as you called ‘cut,’ he was like the nicest guy ever, and you’d be talking about whatever, but then you’d call ‘action,’ and he’d sort of become this villain, and I’d be like, ‘Okay, cut!’ But it was a pleasure to collaborate with him.”

However, Holland’s appreciation for working with Keaton went beyond the fact that Keaton had previously portrayed Batman. It was about the chemistry and energy they shared on set. Their interactions and performances contributed significantly to the film’s success and left a lasting impression on both fans and critics.

Spider-Man: Homecoming indeed became an iconic entry in the MCU, blending elements of superhero action, coming-of-age drama, and humor seamlessly. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, as the menacing Vulture, Keaton playfully referenced Batman on set, adding nostalgia for fans. This unexpected addition added an extra layer of excitement and nostalgia for fans. Tom Holland, who played Spider-Man in the film, shared in a recent interview the amusing tidbit that Michael Keaton, despite fully embracing his role as The Vulture, couldn’t help but name-check his iconic Batman character during their scenes together.

Holland told the ACE Comic Con panel discussion (via Comicbook),

“Yes, certainly. There’s a great scene that’s not in the movie because it was cut short where I carry the vulture out of the flames when he nearly dies and I rescue him and I lay him down on the sand and he says, I think the line was, ‘Why did you save me?’ And I say, ‘Because I’m Spider-Man.’And he went like, ‘I’m Batman.’”
Michael Keaton, while terrifying as The Vulture, showcased his versatility by effortlessly transitioning between the intense villain and the charismatic Batman actor. This blend of humor and intensity, coupled with his respect for past roles, enhanced his memorable presence in Spider-Man: Homecoming, delighting both fans and the cast.
